This is definitely not working |11:55 AM|
I'm stuck at work. Of course, I fucked up this morning and overslept, despite no actual "partying" last night. I just ate my fill of barbeque and cake. I've got to clean the rest of my house tonight, that's top priority.
my co-worker says whenever he sees "Lebanese" he sees "lesbian". I should explain the term "wacky-parsing".
Zusty has written an update for TPL. Apparently Az was driving her crazy, and she broke down and wrote. I don't think I approve of this method of gaining updates, but whatever works. I'd love to post the update, but the goddamn news system is broken. Everything is broken and no one is at work to help me fix it. This is one of those situations where taking matters into my own hands can accomplish nothing, as I have neither the tools nor the access to deal with these problems. I can merely sit and wait. These sorts of situations drive me nuts.

I'm in such an odd mood. I'm pissed at myself that I screwed up so much this morning, but I can't find myself giving two much of a damn. As long as I'm not fired, I'm okay. It's difficult to place much loyalty in a company or situation that forces me to get a second job just to survive. This does not appear to be a step up. I guess that's what angers me the most. I left road runner to preserve my sanity, yet I'm having to go back because the money here is such crap. Okay, now I'm whining. I hope you all had a happy fourth, I certainly enjoyed all the food.
What else is there to cover? Not a lot.

I don't know if this is working |1:43 AM|
I'm fixing the site, the changes have been drastic on this side, though you should still be able to see this page. Hello, all you people out there.

The air smells of sulfer, my stomach is full of steak, I am a patriotic American. There are still belief systems for which I am willing to give my life for, so I think I'm an okay patriot.

A friend of mine gets into town on Saturday. I'm going to give her a nice tour of the city, and show her all the highlights. I'm in negotiations with my poker crew to allow her to show up without being forced to go topless. Things are looking up.

Squeaky Happy Feet |3:53 PM|
I'm going out to see Men In Black 2 with Vorpal. It's really fucking slow at work, and this is dangerous. It is dangerous due to a large container of suprisingly good confectionary delights a few feet away from me. These are to be delivered to my folks, and the post office. However, I've already eaten one. These are some damn good cookies. I really hope they survive their trip.

My left sneaker is squeaking up a damn storm. As I walk through the halls, people turn to look back at me, wondering what sinister squeaky person is following them. I don't want to retire these damn things, they're expensive.
The site hasn't been moved yet, someone forgot to update DNS over at the new host. Wonderful, thank you. Now I have to wait about 48 hours or so for it to propagate. If this site suddenly vanishes, fear not, we will be back.

Son of a bitch |2:04 PM|
The IRS gave a big thumbs down to my electronic filing. Great. They claim they already sent me my $300 refund from september, though I don't recall getting it. Of course, at the time I was probably still pretty screwed up emotionally. Maybe I spent it on alcohol for friends to get drunk while I watched.
Shit. I'm going to have to pay rent today, but how exactly is a hell of a question.
This is not going to be a fun afternoon. There's work to be done. I must count all the bees in the hive, and chase all the clouds from the sky. It's actually raining quite steadily here, converting this city into a sauna. At least I still have some left over spagetti.

Some former co-workers heard about my plan to get some part time work at Road Runner. They spent about 30 minutes or so explaining how the stupidity I witnessed has been eclipsed ten-fold by the current callers. It seems road runner is now doing television support as well, like video on demand. Wonderful. They went on to say how many screaming assholes they get a day (a lot) and how I'm not allowed to hang up on them or scream back (We'll just see about that). I'm think I should take a safari approach to the whole thing, that I'm in some dangerous intellectual wilderness, where fools roam free and can strike at any time.
This is looking more and more like a terrible idea. I still have to do it though. Bitter medicine, for a disease strictly of the bank account. I've got wallet leprosy.

Night Shift....Night Shift....Night Shift. |2:05 PM|
Lunch time. Lunch today consists of Coke Cola.

I've been talking to that former co-worker. I have to not be insane when I speak to the new call-center manager at Road Runner, and I might just be able to get a job. Sheesh, who'd have thought?

It's night shift. I'll just keep repeating that to myself. It's night shift.

I managed to walk away from a slaughter at the poker table last night. Vorpal and his roomate were ripped to shreds by the wife of our normal poker host. To be fair, she had monster hands, and so it wasn't something Vorpal or his brother could have fought if they tried. It was a low buy-in, but it was all firmly in one person's possesion within 45 minutes.
I managed to walk away with a couple dollars over my buy in, vowing to be just as careful every evening. I've also decided to start keeping exact track of my poker winnings and losses. I'll get some kind of field up here so you, the gentle readership, can follow along at home.

I'm completely in charge of the office. That means pretty much fuck-all.

bags of sand |2:17 AM|
An interesting weekend during periods, I managed to get some house cleaning done. The ants got a bit of a foothold in the cat food area. I had no idea they'd go for that. Catching up on laundry, and the most important part of that is to hang the clean clothes up. I've been looking a bit wrinkled.
This week I am the only guy in charge of the help desk and the printer office in general. Whoopty fucking do. I guess I could install a tiny tennis court in the office to amuse myself. I do have that new Henry Miller book, and perhaps I could convince Vid to lend me some copies of "Cosmos".

Caught a showing of Insomnia with Vorpal. Enjoyable crime film, Vorpal bitched about the blatant symbolism, I bothered to review it with him for the site. Hillary Swank was actually pretty cute in that movie, which was suprising, while Pacino was terrifying. Robin Williams was...tempered and conservative. I was amazed.

Only a couple more days until this whole shebang is moved onto the Blue Domino servers. I'm really tired of waiting. Oh, I meant to order the shirts last week, but I couldn't. Funding issues are relatively serious when I have to front some of my own cash. Not much, but enough to slow things down.

Ugh. I'm babbiling on about nothing.
